Noise Testing & Monitoring

We measure ambient and background noise, HVAC and mechanical equipment noise, and occupational/industrial noise levels for plants, retail, restaurants, bars, arenas and casinos. We also perform outdoor environmental noise testing for commercial and government clients (we do not perform residential neighbor-noise testing). Results are reported against the relevant criteria — NC/RC room ratings and occupational exposure levels — so you know exactly where you stand.

RT60

Reverberation (RT60) Testing

Excessive reverberation is the number-one cause of poor speech intelligibility in arenas, gymnasiums, houses of worship, restaurants and convention spaces. We measure reverberation time (RT60) by octave band per ISO 3382 to quantify echo and "live" room behavior, identify problem frequencies, and predict exactly how much acoustical treatment a space needs to sound right.

STC / ASTC

Sound Transmission (STC) Testing

How much sound bleeds between a bar and a dining room, a casino floor and a meeting room, or a classroom and the hallway? We perform field Sound Transmission Class (FSTC/ASTC) testing of walls, floor-ceiling assemblies and partitions per ASTM E336 and E413, then document where sound is leaking and what it will take to control it.
